Following on from our August newsletter regarding the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines, we are pleased to inform you that the latest PowerPoint presentations and Tutor Notes are now available to download.

There are no major protocol changes and the minor changes, to both adult and paediatric first aid, can be found in our August 2021 Newsletter.

With regard to manuals, there will be a crossover period due to factors such as stock levels and printing schedules with not all updated manuals being introduced at the same time.

STUDENT FIRST AID

The Student First Aid qualification is now available in Scotland at Level 5 SCQF.

If you would like to register to teach the qualification and are an existing First Aid Instructor, please complete and return the Instructor Qualification Registration Form to registrations@nucotraining.com

DEFIBRILLATION QUALIFICATIONS

FAA have amended the minimum age for a learner to attend the following qualifications:

Basic Life Support and the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator at Level 2 (RQF) / Level 5 (SCQF)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation at Level 2 (RQF) / Level 5 (SCQF)

Previously the minimum age limit had been set to 16 years old, but from this point forward, learners aged 14 and over are permitted to attend and gain the regulated qualifications.
